Synopsis

This publication is devoted to A Premeditated Crime by Witold Gombrowicz – a text that straddles the boundaries of grotesque, crime fiction, and philosophical treatise. The author undertakes an interpretation of the work through the lens of contemporary reading practices, combining tools of literary analysis with reflections rooted in glottodidactics. The study contributes to research on the reception of 20th-century Polish literature among advanced learners of Polish as a foreign language, offering didactic solutions based on current literary and methodological theories.

Author Biography

Anna Gawryś-Mazurkiewicz (oprac.), University of Silesia in Katowice

PhD in Literary Studies. She is an assistant professor at the Institute of Literary Studies, Faculty of Humanities, University of Silesia in Katowice. From 2015 to 2025, she worked at the School of Polish Language and Culture, University of Silesia. She specializes in teaching Polish as a foreign language and literature pedagogy. She has taught at universities in Ukraine, Slovakia, Russia, Germany, France, Kazakhstan, China, Korea, Brazil, and Italy. Her research interests focus on genetic criticism, editing, modern biography, and glottodidactics in Polish studies. She serves as the scientific secretary of the semi-annual journal "Postscriptum Polonistyczne." [10.12.2025]
