Synopsis

In this book, I advocate the idea of an education that serves the effects of awakening – that does not hold us hostage to the here and now, does not reinforce the bubbles of ad hoc collective perceptions, but helps us to live with open eyes and to deal - as far as possible – with our defective, dislocated condition and with social phantasms. Education - if it is to support human beings in discerning their existence - cannot ignore human fragility.

Author Biography

Krzysztof Maliszewski, University of Silesia in Katowice

Dr hab., prof. UŚ, pracuje w Instytucie Pedagogiki Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach. W latach 2015–2019 kierownik Zakładu Podstaw Pedagogiki i Historii Wychowania. Autor książek: Teoria wychowania moralnego w pedagogice kultury II Rzeczypospolitej (2004), Ciemne iskry. Problem aktualizacji pedagogiki kultury (2013), Pedagogika na pograniczu światów. Eseje z cyklu „Medium Mundi” (2015), Istota, sens i uwarunkowania (wy)kształcenia (z D. Stępkowskim i B. Śliwerskim, 2019). Redaktor tomu Pedagogika kultury – wehikuł przebudzeń. O edukacji nie-obojętnej (2021). Koncentruje się na pedagogice kultury, pedagogice filozoficznej, historii myśli pedagogicznej oraz hermeneutycznych podstawach humanistyki. [25.01.2022]
