Synopsis
This monograph focuses on the formation of the structure and properties of Al2O3 oxide coatings doped with tungsten disulfide (WS2) on aluminum alloys, aiming to improve the sliding properties in kinematic, oil-free friction nodes. The work presents an analysis and characterization of the prepared research material and the properties of the friction pair, based on a series of structural, technological, experimental, and operational studies defining the engineering of Al2O3 oxide coatings doped with WS2. The adopted research methodology allowed for the determination of detailed cognitive conclusions and the optimization of the performance of the investigated friction nodes, while also indicating the practical aspects of the modified Al2O3/WS2 coating in a real pneumatic actuator system.
