Synopsis
The book, entitled - “Self-Governing Education,” raises extremely important legal and social issues. It fills a gap in the publishing market in terms of the administrative-legal analysis of this topic. The research carried out in this publication showed the existence of an evolving model of local government education. It was recognized that its current shape is influenced primarily by constitutional principles and dynamically changing regulations of subconstitutional rank. It was shown that, despite the constancy of constitutional principles, the evolution of legislation can lead to their actual strain. It was assumed that the ‘self-governing education’ indicated in the title of the publication refers by law to schools run and established by the local government and to educational tasks carried out by the local government. This model also includes the main relations with entities related to the local government determining the role of the local government in carrying out public tasks, including, in particular, the superintendent of schools and non-public entities.
