Synopsis

The book presents an academic perspective on contemporary global phenomena, namely crises and conflicts, adopting a linguistic approach while also incorporating elements of cultural studies, media studies and legal reflections. Key issues addressed within the publication include migration discourse, climate and identity discourses, and armed conflict. In the course of the analysis, the authors took into account: press images of specific crises/conflicts, the lexical representations of conflict and agreement in contemporary Polish language, crises and conflicts in minority discourses, public communication, art and science, and strategies leading to agreement.
