Synopsis

This is the first Polish-language publication on the influence of technological developments on the aesthetic and formal form of Television Theater. Part one includes a brief historical overview of the aesthetic changes in the context of the emergence of new technologies. Part two includes analyses of selected titles from the history of Television Theater, demonstrating how television technology has shaped their form. Part three contains unique interviews conducted by the author with television creators, including Jerzy Antczak, Jan Englert, and Agnieszka Holland, on the evolution of television theatre form.

Dariusz Pawelec, University of Silesia in Katowice

The author is a graduate of Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice. For many years, he was associated with Polish Television, where he worked as a cameraman, vision producer, and director. He has produced dozens of television plays, concerts, and documentaries. [6.03.2026]
