Appearing in the series Czytaj po polsku. Materiały pomocnicze do nauki języka polskiego jako obcego from the novel Tylko martwi nie kłamią (Only the Dead Never Lie) by Kata-rzyna Bondy, prepared by Tomasz Gęsina, is aimed at people learning Polish at an inter-mediate level (B1, B2). The fragment of the crime novel was used twice - for the B1 level the text was adapted in an accessible way, for the B2 level the original text was used. All tasks are based on the grammatical and lexical material used in both texts. The publica-tion can be used by both students who want to improve their language on their own, and teachers while working with a language class group, as well as Polish recipients interested in contemporary Polish literature who want to shape linguistic and cultural competences in the field of Polish language and culture. The book was prepared taking into account the examination standards of the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Po-lish as a Foreign Language.
