Appearing in the series "Read in Polish. Auxiliary materials for learning Polish as a foreign language" stories about the Treasurer, developed by Jolanta Tambor and Tomasz Gęsina, are addressed to people learning Polish at the basic level (A1–A2). This volume contains texts on regional issues that are very rarely presented to foreigners.

The publication includes two works: About how the miner Maślok shopped with the Treasurer by Gustaw Morcinek and About the Treasurer, the ghost of the mine from the collection Polish Fairy Tales and Legends. All tasks are based on the grammatical and lexical material used in both texts. The publication can be used both by students who want to improve their language on their own, as well as teachers when working with a foreign language group, as well as Polish recipients interested in Polish literature who want to develop linguistic and cultural competences in the field of Polish language and culture. The book was developed taking into account the examination standards of the State Commission for Certification of Knowledge of Polish as a Foreign Language.
